Social Security Tower
of Pristina
A 8-storied high rise building in the centre of
Pristina was heavily damaged during the NATO air
strikes in 1999 with the last 3 floors completely
burnt out, causing extensive structural damage.
The building was refurbished to accommodate the
headquarter of the European Agency for Reconstruction
in only 10 month, which also includes the pre-construction
services. The total usable floor area which had
to be refitted are 2,300 square metres and includes
a new heating and cooling system supported by solar
energy. This project is a milestone for the application
of environmental friendly technology for cooling
and is expected to assist the client to cut his
operational costs.
