Administrative Buildings
The general objective of the programme was to provide
the municipal staff and officials adequate working
conditions in facilities which had been either neglected
or inadequately maintained due to lack of funds
in the past. This support was considered an important
step towards in demonstrating to the Kosovars the
sincere intention of the EU International Community
to hand over the reigns.
Town Halls of Malisevo
Being the newest municipality of Kosovo, it was
the only one without an adequate Town Hall. The
building had been used before the conflict by Serbian
authorities and by the time the conflict was over,
was looted and parts burnt. The areas which remained
usable were taken over by displaced persons, who
had first to be moved out to allow the reconstruction
process to commence. Also, Malisevo still does not
have a functioning water network and therefore as
vital water supply to the sanitary facilities, a
borehole was sunk. The building now has a central
heating plant, sufficient sanitary facilities including
a handicapped toilet, smoke detectors with fire
alarm and hydrant and computer network installed.
