Chake Chake Hospital
of Pemba – Defects Assessment
A general hospital complex was newly built with
funds of the European Union on a hilltop location
and after opening to the general public developed
during the defects liability period not correctable
defects caused by a landslide which lead the Ministry
of Health of the Revolutionary Government of Zanzibar
to close it temporarily as it was considered a risk
to the lives of the users. 3D design-development-display,
Barnert, Bauer OEG were called in to conduct an
assessment and prepare a defects report recommending
remedies so that the defects of the hospital could
be corrected and thereafter reopened.
